I have istalled quite a few music apps on my iPad. So far I liked loop based ones like 
Looptastic HD and Groovemaker House / Hip-Hop / D'n'B, Smule Magic Piano of course and for Sheet music
Muzibook.

My favorite is absolutely however is iELECTRIBE from Korg. It faithfully recreates Korgs' historic ELECTRIBE-R’s entire sound engine – including analog synthesis modeling and PCM synthesis, along with virtual Valve Force tube modeling and the feeling on the iPad is truly amazing. The iPad actualy feels like a machine...
The sounds are like the original and the price: just $ 9.99...

After my post of May 19, it took still a month before some other blogs took interest in the censorship of "The Importance of Being Earnest" of Oscar Wilde as drawn by Tom Bouden.
Slate and TechCrunch wrote about it as did Steven Fry  and finally Apple gave in:

"We made a mistake. When the art panel edits of  the graphic novel adaptation of Oscar Wilde's Importance of Being Earnest app were brought to our attention, we offered the developers the opportunity to resubmit their original drawings and update their apps."


So let's hope that Apple learned form their mistake and that in the future we can see boys kissing on apps... (IU haven't seen the update by publisher "De Bonte" of the app though...)
NB: The nice thing about this whole affair is of course that now the whole world knows about this great comic!

Fly to high

I was looking for new tracks for my running playlist when I remembered "Fly to High" from Janis Ian which she made with Giorgio Moroder way back in 1979 (that is 30 years ago!) so no wonder that the Janis I remembered is completely different than the woman on the recent pic I found on the Net...
Nice track though... 

At the Ferry

Roland and I organized the motor trip for our motor club this Sunday, and the weather was just ok. The trip was a little tour D'Amsterdam and we managed to squize all the bikes on the ferry at Akersloot.
