Let's be nice and say that they really tried. The guys from AKA organized a new years party at the pool. A dinner with caviar, oysters, foie gras etc etc. A set of party stuff (funny heads, confetti, rose petals and... a band.
The singer tried to sing classic jazz, her voice wasn't that bad but if only she could have understand english. She now sung a phonetic version of each song like "Smoke goes in yor Eggs", "Stranglers in the Nite" and "Jester Day".
We went to bed early and were vast asleep when 2008 started.

In Hua Hin it is possible to rent an elephant and ride it your self, so we did and it was fun and not that difficult.
Pala-U
We walked/climbed up the mountain of the Pala-U waterfall. It is on the border with Burma in the middle of the jungle. It has 15 levels but because of the border you cannot go further that level 6. It was a hard climb, but rewarding as we saw so many (and many kinds) butterflies we never saw before in the wild.
It turned out that Bangkok airways chartered Edelweiss to bring us back to Bangkok from Siem Reap. We had a Swiss pilot and I almost expected Julie Andrews as stewardess.
When driving around through the Cambodian landscape you notice that this country is nowhere as far as Thailand is. This is really a underdeveloped country. No decent roads, people are walking, biking and the housing is poor. After years and years of misery some things are changing for the best. Luckily the have this world wonder to help touristism. Hotels are being build, roads are being paved. The people are most friendly and optimistic. Let's hope things improve.
We got up at 5 to see the sunrise at 6. It was awesome!
