Jesus Encinar is the CEO and founder of the successful Spanish Real Estate website Idealista. He was at the conference which was an excellent opportunity to catch up with him. He is a charming, highly intelligent and smart guy. Marijn and I took him to our favorite thai restaurant in Berlin Mitte and we had a great evening. Hope to see and speak to him more often.

We had several interesting talks today. About design, user interface - social communities and start ups.

We drove to Berlin to visit the O'reilly Web 2.0 conference. It is packed with interesting speeches, companies and people. We stay in the Lux 11 design Hotel - right around the corner in Berlin Mitte - the best neighborhood of Berlin.

I was not worried about the ING troubles untill I came into AH today and saw this ATM... :-)

Powells' endorsement was not a huge surprise but his statement about his endorsement was excellent. I really liked this segment: "I'm also troubled by, not what Senator McCain says, but what members of

is not a Muslim, he's a Christian.  He's always been a Christian.  But

Because of an item at the Antiques Roadshow two weeks ago, I remembered how much fun it was to read the Biggles Books. So I ordered 16 of the best (at a publisher in India...) and started reading them again. WE Johns wrote 96 Biggles books between 1932 - 1970. I guess I only read 30 or so. Only once a (very bad) movie was made out of the series: why doesn't Spielberg gives it a try? 96 books published

The funny movie in the tradition of Amercian Pie with Josh Zuckerman as the new Jason Biggs has some hilarious moments and although the predictacle ending a awesome script.

Now I only have to get rid of the due steps and slip on a new Acropovic exhaust...

 Because my mother are sisters maried with two brothers - the genetic material of Ruud is almost the same. Add up a similair upbringing (neighborhood, school, holidays etc. etc.) and you almost have a clone :-)
The children of Ruud and Christl remind me much of my brothers and sister and children of my brothers and sister. Funny how that is.

It was nice to visit Warsaw again. Of course during the set up of Funda Polska I have been back and forward to my old hometown - but every time something new has been added.

We stayed in my favorite Intercontinental hotel in Warsaw. Right in the middle of the centre and with a swimming pool on the 43st floor - excellent rooms and service.

I flew to Warsaw today with my mother and aunt to visit my nephew Ruud and his wife Christl. The flight was only 2 hours but a bomb scare on Chopin airport made us wait for a couple of hours...

I must admit: I forgot to set the DVR for the second debate. But I found on The New York Times website a brilliant interactive video of this event. You can search for words, go to subjects (red for McCain, blue for Obama) and the transcript will scroll accordingly.  It is the best Video application I have ever seen - Maybe next time I skip the DVR all together and watch the third debate of The NYT website immediately...
