The best film: Dinner for schmucks or Le Dîner de cons

I really liked Francis Vebers' Le Dîner de cons when it came out in 1998. So I was a little sceptical whether the remake "dinner for schmucks" could live up to the original. Well: it can't... The French version is much darker and sarcastic. But it schmucks has its fine moments: Steve Carrel timing is great and  I always admire Zach Galifianakis - who should get an oscar nomination for his role of Therman - the mind controller.

Time to murder some people

My game setup was a little bit outdated so I upgraded to a new 250G PS3 system with a Sony Bravia 100Hz 32" LED. Now Assassins Creed is looking great and I cannot wait to play Heavy Rain or the upcoming James Bond "Blood Stone". The only thing left is a nice (wireless?) home cinema sound system for the setup.

The Killing - Forbrydelsen

This week is Killing week - a 20 hour Danish TV series about a cop trying to find the killer of a young girl. It is not to bad. Only thing is that after 15 minutes you know who did it and that Sarah Lund (the Inspector) seems to have only 1 sweater which she is wearing for THREE weeks...

Faster Running

Now that I entered the 8K run in October I must train to up my best time a little bit. The new Heartbeat function on my Nike Plus is working fine and this article in the NYT proves that a good playlist is making you run faster and better. So that's what I am concentrating on right now: to build the perfect 8K playlist (with a BPM of about 120 -130). Because my biggest fault is to start running way to fast, I need to increase the BPM of the playlist gradually I guess.

Jag älskar Sune :-)

I en bokhandel i Malmö jag köpte min första bok om Sune och nu kan jag inte sova utan läser Sune nya äventyrar. Böcker är mycket roligt och skrivit för killar 10 år gammal så jag kan också läsa den... :-)

Amsterdam Marathon 2010

 
I have entered the Amsterdam Marathon 2010 in October- the 8 KM race that is. I am very happy to see on the map of the course that there will be THREE Red Cross teams on hand and samba music...

Sail 2010

 
Every 5 years the biggest nautical event in Europe takes place in the harbor of Amsterdam. Tall ships from all over the world visit the city and millions of people watch the ships.

An official Homo park in Rotterdam

While other countries are troubled by some dark nightly park activities by some men, the city of Rotterdam actually welcomes these and so there are new signs in the Kralingse Bos in Rotterdam which state that men can have sex in this designated area (Oh: and to warn others maybe)

When we arrived home we noticed a new sign in front of our house: Our street has been declared a no-alcohol zone. Nothing to do with Ramadan though - just a council measure to reduce to nuisance of some heavy drinkers at the canal :-) I am still not sure what this means for Eddie in our own house...

Hamburg

 
On our way back from Sweden we decided to stay the night in Hamburg and to visit the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe. It was good to be back in hamburg after 20 or so many years and to see that the city is completely renovated and updated for the better. We had an excellent (German) dinner and will be back soon to discover Hamburg some more.

Öland

 
Öland är mycket intressant och gammalt ö till höger från Kalmar i Östersjön. Där finns många fåglar på passage till Afrika. Fyrar hetar långa Jan och Erik, vad indikera av Danska ursprung det här område.

I Kalmar finns Kalmar slottet från medeltida. När vi var där 4 bröllop inträffande - Jag var i tid för dessa pussar...

Det finns många glasbrukar i södra Sverige (Småland). Orrefors, Kosta Boda, Johanfors och målerås till exempel. Totalt besökte vi 14 brukar - alla med skorsten och outlet butik...

Steven Slater: a hero has born

Everyone is at one time fed up with his work, annoying people or both. Not a lot of people have to nerve to say enough is enough and act accordingly: not Steven Slater. He took the easy way out and left his job as flight attendant at jet Blue via the emergency slide. He now faces 7 years in prison (its the friendly US of A remember...) - but for me and million other people he is a hero! :-) For what as his job concerns: I guess he will never have to be a flight attendant again, writing a book and giving lectures about frustration at work will bring him millions...
