Amsterdam is one of the happiest cities in the world


In the Top 10 happiest cities Amsterdam is on number 4 and together with Paris the coldest. I can understand that Rio is number 1 - people always seem to be smiling over there. :-)

MMM cooking

Spain is upside down in Amsterdam

Already now for more then a week at the (international) passenger terminal Amsterdam harbour the Spanish Flag is upside down and apparently nobody is noticing...  :-)

Why Siri isn't my girlfriend

I don't know how it is with you - but sometimes you see something and think: WOW! this is amazing and it will help me in my day-to-day life. But then after a while you realize you never use it.
It happened to me with Google Earth, Augmented Reality, iOS notification center and I just realized that I never use Siri. I know she is cute, smart and available but she isn't in my daily routine. And the times I used it she got really confused and I upset.
Maybe I have to switch from US settings to UK setting so I get Jon Briggs as my butler voice?

The day @nokianl let me down...

My phone came back from Nokia Care - it said: "Repaired". But it isn't repaired at all and the same problem of my Lumia 920 - it freezes when I charge it- still exists. When you try to call the number on the repair receipt there is no connection - number doesn't exist. So I tried to call Nokia Care. A friendly woman in English explained to me that the only thing she could say to me is to send the devise to Nokia Care again. It seems that only the second time it will be send for repair they will actually have a good look at it... At least that is what she told me. The same story at Nokia HQ (in swedish) and the same story (in German) at Arvato (the company that does the repairs for Nokia.
Strangely: the (red) phone that I borrowed from Nokia NL with the same apps, operation system, firm software and charging equipment doesn't have this problem at all. So it must be in the devise it self.
So the guy from UPS just came to my door and picked up my (yellow) lumia. Let's see if this time the will repair it... :-(

What is happening with the Eurosong festival this year as there are some 100% copies of existing songs entered14 februari. If you know Modern Talkings ”Cheri Cheri Lady” you know where Martin Rolinski and his song ”In And Out Of Love” got the midi file from. Fortunately I don't think Martin has a chance to become the Swedish entry but Germany already made his choice in Cascade with an exact copy of Loreen's Europhia, called: Glorious.

Are actors afraid to show who they really are? The rise of the beards...

Roald Dahl  always wanted to "do something against beards", because he had an acute dislike of them. He said that men who had beards were evil and had something to hide. Well Roald would had have a fit if he had attended the Oscars 2013- every guy it seemed turned up with full facial hair...
Ben, George, Russel, Hugh, black or grey - a beard seems to be a must have nowadays in Hollywood.
Even Daniel Day-Lewis is having a beard (ok - only when playing Lincoln, but anyway)

Besides from that the Oscar event was a bit tacky - I don't like Seth MacFarlane so much; the longing for the Academy for a younger demographic is so much that they are willing to cross the line of decency. William Shatner—as Star Trek’s Captain Kirk—beamed in from “the future” and labeled MacFarlane “the worst Oscar host ever.” He was right.
Great that Anne Hathaway got his oscar (as I predicted before)  and that Amour got the statue. (sorry for Emmanuelle Riva not having hers)
But the night's biggest triumph was  the ageless Shirley Bassey, who performed an amazing version of the Goldfinger theme, she out shined Barbra and Adele.

Stcokholm: vi har et resultat!

Efter sista deltävling vet vi vem ska vinna Melodifestivalen 2013 och representerar Sverige i Stockholm på Eurovisiesongfestivalen. Han heter Ulrik Munther med "Tell the World I am here" (Thomas G:son, Peter Boström - de samma som har skrivit Euphoria från Loreen). Jag tänker med honom har Sverige en stor chans om att vinna igen.
