Thanks to my friends at Eco-Movement I now am the proud owner of a electric scooter. It is amazingly silent: no noise at all! And cheap to own and to drive.
I needed a new helmet because driving a scooter with a motor helmet is perhaps a little bit silly So I bought the Nolan N30 with white race striping...
The Hema scooter insurance is an excellent choice and can be bought completely online.
The only thing I need now is the scooter itself... It will be delivered next Tuesday.
Today the guys from eco-movement were here to demonstrate their eclectric scooter (I bought one, more about that later this week) They have nice project. SMS Boom to 2255 and your money is used to save a tree. Please do!

Funda moet van NVM exclusief blijven

Makelaarsvereniging NVM wil de exclusiviteit van Funda handhaven en heeft daarom de directie, die meer openheid wilde, naar huis gestuurd.
Funda zit dus zonder directie nu directeur Marque Joosten en twee collega-directeuren afscheid
hebben genomen van 's lands grootste makelaarssite.
Dat gebeurde na een conflict met de grootste aandeelhouder NVM, de Nederlandse Vereniging
van Makelaars. Deze ging ging niet akkoord met de wens van de directie om van Funda een
open site te maken met daarop ook aanbod van niet-leden van de NVM.
Tegen NRC zei president-commissaris Bert Vis dat de directie met de geslotenheid ook de
betrouwbaarheid van de informatie op het spel zou zetten.
Kwaliteit
De NVM is juist bezig om de regels voor leden aan te scherpen teneinde het onderscheid met
niet-leden in kwaliteit te benadrukken. Dat past in het geheel niet bij een 'open' Funda waar
huizen van leden en niet-leden van de NVM naast elkaar getoond zouden moeten worden.
Joosten cs. zijn voorstander van een open site, omdat dit voor het pubkliek en voor het bezoek
aan de site beter zou zijn. Ze zien ook de concurrentie, onder meer van het door de Rabobank
gekochte Zoekallehuizen en van het expanderende Miljoenhuizen.nl toenemen.

Makelaars trekken aan het langste eind in strijd om Funda
Achtergrond Van onze verslaggever Merijn Rengers
AMSTERDAM - De ruzie tussen de directie van Funda, met afstand de populairste huizensite van Nederland, en grootaandeelhouder de Nederlandse Vereniging van Makelaars (NVM) bereikte vrijdag een voorlopig hoogtepunt. De complete directie van de huizensite werd door de raad van commissarissen (lees: door de NVM zelf) naar huis gestuurd na een conflict over de te volgen koers.
De directie wilde zo snel mogelijk de site Funda, die nu nog exclusief toegankelijk is voor mensen die een NVM-makelaar in de arm nemen bij het verkopen van hun huis, openstellen voor derden – zo zeggen diverse goed ingevoerde makelaars. Door zo’n openstelling zouden ook klanten van bij andere beroepsorganisaties aangesloten makelaars, zoals de VBO, en wellicht zelfs particulieren die zelf hun huis verkopen, toegang krijgen tot Funda.
De Funda-directie wilde deze verregaande stap zetten omdat zij de concurrentie voor de vooralsnog ongenaakbare huizensite vreest. Links en rechts zijn de afgelopen jaren huizensites opgedoken, die vollediger zijn dan Funda omdat ze niet alleen het aanbod van de NVM-makelaars tonen, maar ook de woningen van andere verkopers op hun site plaatsen.
De verregaande plannen die de Funda-directie op eigen houtje had opgezet om een snelle openstelling te realiseren, waren tegen het zere been van de NVM. De makelaarsorganisatie zit niet te wachten op de openstelling, omdat consumenten vooral voor een NVM-makelaar kiezen omdat zij zich dan verzekerd weten van een advertentie op Funda. Voor veel woonconsumenten staat of valt de aantrekkelijkheid van de NVM bij de exclusiviteit van Funda.
De ruzie om Funda gaat derhalve over meer dan over een huizensite: die gaat over de toekomst van de NVM, en vormt een nieuw probleemdossier op het bord van de makelaarsorganisatie. Die strijdt niet alleen met de Funda-directie, maar moet zich ook verweren tegen verzet uit eigen kring. Steeds meer grote makelaarsorganisaties hebben het idee hebben dat zij los van de NVM sterker staan dan als gehoorzaam lid van de brancheorganisatie.
De traditiegetrouw assertieve Amsterdamse makelaars rebelleren onder leiding van vastgoedondernemer Jan Wieger van der Linden openlijk tegen de NVM, en een aantal landelijke makelaarsketens zijn in het geheim oriënterende gesprekken gestart over de mogelijkheid om uit de makelaarsvereniging te stappen, zo melden betrokkenen.
Ook de banken knabbelen, uit eigenbelang, aan de hegemonie van de NVM. Zij hebben het afgelopen jaar hun inkomsten uit het oversluiten van hypotheken zien opdrogen – een gevolg van de licht gestegen rente. Om marktaandeel te behouden op de hypotheekmarkt richten de financiële instellingen zich daarom steeds nadrukkelijker op mensen die een huis (ver)kopen. En als de banken daarbij de makelaars kunnen passeren, dan doen zij dat.
Zo is de Rabobank sinds kort eigenaar van Funda-concurrent zoekallehuizen.nl en biedt de Postbank via de makelaars van iBlue goedkope makelaarsdiensten aan.
Ook gonzen er geruchten in de makelaardij dat op korte termijn een nieuwe Funda–concurrent, gefinancierd door weer een andere hypotheekbank, het levenslicht ziet.
Kenners van de markt twijfelen niet of Funda 2010 haalt; daarvoor is de positie van de site te sterk. Maar het aantal makelaars dat denkt dat de NVM ongeschonden die datum haalt, daalt met de dag.

The Tour of California started a couple of days ago. The prologue reminds me of the trip Marijn and I made last year when we were cycling in San Francisco. The only difference is that these guys do it in a couple of minutes instead of us in hours... ;-)
For the Provincial Elections I did the online test. Luckily this time my old VVD friends agree on almost everything I think that needs to be done. D66 is a good number two. So what I"ll do now is to have a look at the candidates before I make up my final decision.

Because of my birthday we had dinner with No&Go in Tempo Doeloe (slow down). As usual it was perfect. :-)
Danny Hoekzema want to join the gay parade through the Amsterdam Canals this spring. Small problem however: He's only 14 years old. (You wouldn't say would you?)
I hope he can join because why should there be any discrimination and should gays wait to come out till they are 16? Straight guys don't :-)

On Friday, 9 February 2007, Funda Müjde was injured in a traffic accident in Istanbul. The taxi she had taken rolled over. Funda is in Intensive Care. I hope that she will recover soon.
Funda was the star of our own Funda Lustrum party last year.
Today we had dinner with the guys of our Funda Directory Services in cafe Roux. As a little present we bought them new Nike plus running shoes with a new Apple Nano.

Remember Tjeerd? Marijn, Thijs and I met him at the Microsoft headquarters in Seattle when we were there couple of years ago. He was working with a staff of 35 people on the design of Vista (AKA Longhorn). He must be happy that after all those years Vista hit the market this weeks.

In the latest issue of marketing tribune (A Elsevier Reed publication) the cover story is about Funda. It states that funda is under attack from the NVM and that the NVM like a pitbull terrier tries to slow funda down and to stop her in advancing.

Has Sony gone mad? Prominent adult movie producer Digital Playground (site) says it is forced to use HD DVD instead of Blu-ray, because Sony does not allow porn movies to be released on Blu-ray. I cannot imagine any guy buying a blue ray DVD player now that he knows that he cannot his favorite movies on such a device...
