The day I discovered Blossom (Dearie that is...)

Today I stumbled upon Blossom Dearie - A jazz singer with a light little-girl voice and a great timing (probably because she plays the piano as well. It started with an old Blue Note Trip album (not by coincidence by my favorite DJ Meastro) on which the number "Charade" appears.  Then I downloaded some more albums, and now I am hooked.
Listen to one of her signature songs, “I’m Hip,” or "More then you know" e.g. - both Mel Tormé classic also by the way.

All six Verve albums — “Blossom Dearie” (1956), “Give Him the Ooh-La-La” (1957), “Once Upon a Summertime” (1958), “Sings Comden and Green” (1959), “My Gentleman Friend” (1959) and “Soubrette Sings Broadway Hit Songs”(1960) — are super cult classics.
Thanks Blossom! :-)

Sarah Palin's Alaska

I must admit: I really like Sarah Palin's Alaska on TLC. The production quality is superb and Sarah is like a (desperate housewife) Lynette in the wild. Constantly on her Blackberry and saying on stupid thing after an other. Most fun in episode one: the second floor of the house is a "No-Boy Zone" for the boyfriend of Willow - I wonder how Levi and Bristol made their baby: in the shed?

The British painter Kieron Williamson sold for more then €170.000 of his paintings in Holt, Norfolk this week. This summer he became 8 years old... :-)

Kieron has produced many new works on location or working primarily from his own photographs.
