Remember all the fuss about Mauro Manuel in 2011 and the very dubious role the CDA played? Well today Mauro got news that he is finally Dutch now and can stay! Hurray! (Even the CDA is happy about that...)

Charade an undervalued great movie

Called the best movie Hitchcock never made this movie with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn by Stanley Donen is a great mix of suspense, romance and humor. Set in Paris in the early 60's - what more do you want? The fun thing is that because of a stupid copyright mistake the film is actually in the public domain right after it was released by Universal - so you can see the whole thing on youtube. (But maybe better go for the Blue-Ray enhanced version)

SNOW!?

Wait a minute: it is almost easter now - so why does it keep on snowing in Amsterdam? Now we are certain that Al Gore was right (although we should have believed him from the start...)

Robbie Rogers don't walk away.

Robbie is only the second gay footballer in Britain to come out in public. Justin Fashanu, his solitary predecessor, hanged himself in 1998 in Shoreditch, just a short walk from where Rogers now lives... That proves it that is still very hard to come out in professional soccer today. Even Robbie think that being gay and a footballer do not match and walked away from the game. We need guys like him to stay on and show the world that there is nothing wrong with a gay player.

Joe Weider died today, age 93. Proofing that with training you can live longer. Joe practically invented body building as we know it - with the dumbbells and all. He also launched Arnold Schwarzenegger as an actor.

TEFAF 2013 - Much of the same

This years TEFAF was much of the same. The same sort of antiques, the same paintings that hang now for years of the exhibition at certain dealers and... the same people. (like us!). But anyway it is an unique way to see, touch and buy art which otherwise you will only see in museums and such. So next year we"ll go again I guess.
