Logitech G35 - not for PS3

Just to keep things at peace @home I thought it would be a good idea to use a headset for my PS3 gaming. I was thinking of this nice Logitech G35 ones: 7.1 dolby. But unfortunately Sony still doesn't allow us to use USB headsets on the playstation - why is that? So I canceled my order and will start to use my "old" Sennheiser set.
